location

The Cortijo is perched 900m above sea level on the edge of the Poqeuira valley 1.5 klm from the main

road. With a long history of welcoming quests, the casita was once used as a bar for travellers to

refresh themselves on the long way down to Orgiva, a two-hour walk from the house.

The town, 15 minutes away by car, is the gateway to La Alpujarra, the range of mountains and valleys in the Sierra Nevada national park that can be equated with Tuscany and Provence in earlier times.

Nearby are the beautiful whitewashed Moorish villages of Bubion, Capillera and Pampaneira.
